Cheers, Don Vico! The Godfather of Newton warez delivers again. ;=}

Hmh, perhaps it would be nice to give Dunsany his own subdirectory
"Dunsany, Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett Lord (1878-1957)", lest that
SciFi-Fantasy directory might easily become cluttered. And maybe the same
for "Burroughs, Edgar Rice (1875-1950)", too.

Dear all,

better late than never - there's two new books at UNNA (try Toronto site
first http://toronto.unna.org/unna/books/Fiction_Poetry/SciFi_Fantasy ),
both by Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett (1878-1957), better known under
his title the 18th Lord of Dunsany (see the family website
http://www.dunsany.net - his family is by-and-by releasing more classic
Dunsany in print again! Hint: X-Mas! ;=} ).
Dunsany was much appreciated by e.g. H.P. Lovecraft and other
contemporary writers and was well known for his bad taste in dress (I
faintly remember him being uncontested holder of the title of "Worst
Dressed Man in Ireland", of which the Dunsanies are still proud to-day) and
excellent chess problems for the Times of London's Literary Supplement.
Also he was renowned as a good shot, sports man and very good crime-story
author. He also was recognized as successful playwright, having five plays
running on Broadway.

The two new additions are a short story and his amazing Book of Wonders, a
collection of more fantastic tales, which remind of Celtic myths with nasty
tricks played on the protagonists, think Tolkien's Hobbitt crossed with
Lovecraft's Cats of Ulthar and Kadath-stories.
This is very classic fantastic literature from an author who has been
nearly forgotten today, but was held in high esteem with his contemporary
Science Fiction and Fantasy writers.

Enjoy the read.

Your friend in Newton,

DJ Vollkasko.
