[NTLK] Mysterious card message

I just saw something I've never seen before ... I popped in my usual 4MB
backup card (nothing on it but internal backup, I use it about once a week)
and got the following message:

"The card 'backup card' is formatted for a different language. Do you want
to update it?"

I clicked Cancel, did my backup as usual and everything proceeded normally
(I think). I didn't notice anything in a language other than English.

Anybody know what that was all about?
