Thanks Eric! I'll give the null modem a shot. Could you email me a
couple of photos of the mac-pc adaptor? Do you think it is something
that is still available somewhere, do you have the model number? Still
haven't seen it on Ebay. Or would you know or be able to verify the
wiring, that I might construct one?

Interesting...built-in email functionality - I guessed that might be the
case, but was more concerned with unchecking the Enroute box since I
don't use Enroute and Tibet still wasn't working.

Works fine on my D-360L.
Maybe you need a null modem in addition to/instead of the gender
changer.
My camera came with a mac-to-pc adapter that works great with all kinds
of
Newton stuff (cell phone, PocketReader, camera, etc)

p.s. The SMTP settings are only for emailing your photos.
They do not affect the capture function.
