[NTLK] Programmer's question

Hi all,

is anybody out there aware of a problem with the Gestalt system
function for eMates? For the MP2000/2100/eMate there is a
manufactureDate slot in the
frame that this function returns. This slot's value makes
sense (in the 1997 range) for the 2x00 models, but the eMate
returns a date in June 1940 (tested on 2 eMates).
Could someone perhaps direct me to some documentation where this
slot is mentioned? I have of course searched the usual suspects
(Newton Programmer's Guide, Newton Programmer's Reference,
OS 2.1 Addendum to Newton Programmer's documentation, Google (web),
Google (groups)).
