Well, don't forget that the Newton's screen also has a resolution of 100
dpi, but the digitizer has a resolution of 400 lpi. That means that the
"resolution that goes to the inker" is _much_ greater than the resolution
displayed.

In theory, a trakpad could be used like a tablet, but I simply don't know
the hardware specs on such a device. The Wacom tablets have 512 lpi and I
am certain that the trakpad doesn't do that high.

Lastly, Wacom tablets are not position dependant. If you pull the stylus or
mouse away, it leaves the cursor where it was when you put it back down.
