Hi gang,
I am pleased to announce NewtTest.
NewtTest is a freeware application that helps you test your
Newton and eMate hardware.
I plan to add a lot of additional tests over time, so
please consider NewtTest under construction. It might,
though, be useful for some of you the way it is now.
I am somewhat proud that NewtTest runs on every Newton and
eMate model ever built, from the OMP up to the Newton 2100.
To the best of my knowledge there is currently no test application
around that can claim this. It is a pain in the youKnowWhat to
code for the OMP, but I am this type of guy...
NewtTest will only show tests that make sense on the
particular machine it is running on (you won't, for example,
find the backlight test on an OMP). Hence it will look different
on different Newton models.
If you find the time, I'd appreciate your trying NewtTest out and
letting me know what you think of it. I am interested in bug
reports, criticism, and suggested improvements. Please don't forget
to check if the built-in help answers all your questions satisfactorily.
