Il me semble que le 13/3/03 à 22:38 -0500, Nancy Haitz nous racontait:

I'd be glad to know if the cards are recognized and if you can partition them.

I read here that the limit for stores is 256 MB. I think rather that
someone has a store which is around 256 MB. But no one knows the
actual limit. Actually I think there is no limit at all except those
from the system of stores. Each object has an ID coded on 32 bits.
Let's say that the system somewhere uses NewtonScript integers to
code IDs, you have 30 bits. Let's suppose that it doesn't like the
sign bits, and you have only 29 bits (I take the worst case as you
can see).

So you'll have 29 bits for the Object ID. ATA Support currently
splits the IDs in the sector ID and the ID within the sector. So you
have at least 24 bits for the sector. Consequently, the maximum size
for a store is probably at least 2^24 sectors aka 2^23 KB aka 8 GB.

For the moment the partitionning options are quite limited. Improving
this is on my to-do list (just after sleeping enough per night,
though).
