Eckhart,

I tried out Nitro 2 today and got some interesting results. Here is the
feedback:

Nitro version
2

Which Newton model
MP2100

Which peer device
Sony Ericsson t68i

Which program used on the Newton
Simplemail, Ink Spot, Net Hopper, NetTime

How stable the whole setup was (frequency of crashes, when they occured)
The state at which crashes occured

Several trials. In each, NetTime successfully connected and set the
Newton clock.
First trial (repeated several times) connected with Simplemail. My
mailbox was scanned and then Simplemail stopped working and raised
"Disconnecting" dialog which stayed up for a long time. I switched over
to Ink Spot which started to connect and then threw a Newton error - (5
digits, starting with a "6").
Restarted.
Another trial, connected with Ink Spot. Successfully downloaded several
Usenet articles, then I manually stopped it. Switched to Net Hopper and
began to download a page -- then threw a Newton error again. I was
about to restart at this point when my BACKLIGHT started flashing on
and off very rapidly. I have NEVER seen my Newton do anything like
this, so I figured it was time to stop playing and send you a report.

When using the PPP module, at which state the connection failed
("Loading Serial Driver", "Loading PPP driver", "Engaging PPP driver"
etc)

Never had a problem with this at all.

I am using AT&T Wireless service in the U.S.

I am copying this report to the Newtontalk list so other experimenters
can observe.

Thanks,

-Jeremy
