I recently acquired a very clean MP2000 and am considering the same
operation, scarping the mobo from one of my spare 2100s (touchscreen's
seen better days). Hardware guru I'm not, but Frank's uber-instructions
have previously made a successful breakdown and ressurrection a
straight-forward process for me:

I'm confident I could manage the change-out myself, but at the same time
this new MP is in such good condition I'm thinking about giving up the
fun-factor of the DIY approach and going the lower-risk route of just
having it professionally done by J&K. I'd obsess about it if I messed this
unit up inadvertently.
