there are two basic ways of connecting the newton with a GT, unless you dont
want to spend time in some funky terminal app.
the first method is a simple one, but it involves writing a simple serial
script in NIE (newton internet enabler):

the second one is a full modem script which you need to enter by hand in a
shareware app called modem modifier. it takes a couple of minutes, but it is
definitely worth it - it should support full dialing and fax functionality.
