[NTLK] .nwt image translation?

Is there yet a way to translate .nwt files which have my beautiful
drawings inside?

I have tried copy n pasting the lovelies into notes and then emailing
them to myself to no avail - no conversion takes place at that point.
Only sketches drawn in notes can be converted to GIF and emailed.

If there is someone working on this I would be happy to offer some sort
of support as this is one feature greatly lacking in Newton
connectivity. I often fancied I would try my hand at programming myself
but alas, I am spread thin as it is.
