No, unless you find a way to transparently map the soup structures to
regular files on a FAT partition. And that is not very easy to do.

Newton soups are very flexible. They allow variable length, variable
data type, variable index data storage. Even if this would be
implemented on top of a regular file, you'd still need the code on the
deskop, including applications using your code.

An easy way to do this is a FAT Transport. A FAT Transport could have
two parts: One application that allows browsing of the FAT file system
and transfer of files into the Inbox (tagged with the MIME type), and
one "sending" part which would transfer items from a Newton application
to the FAT file system.

Items in the Inbox can e.g. be imported by MAD Max, IC/VC, Works or
other applications that support "Put Away" from the Inbox.
