> Has nobody noticed NPR is taking advertising from Microsoft?
There are occasions where a "support" announcement is intentionally
placed in close proximity to a report, and that's when an organization
has given money to support coverage of a specific type of story; The
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (how's that for irony) gave NPR a
grant to augment coverage of (I think) medical issues (because the
Foundation contributes heavily to these causes), and that plug often
comes up after longer pieces on that subject.
Otherwise, your perceptions aside, you're looking for a connection that
really isn't there.
