Just a big thank you to Johannes Wolf, John Powell and Robert Benschop
for helping me with this.
I also wanted to share the story of my Newton with you - I expect it's
not unusual...
I bought my Newton (originally a 2000 and upgraded to 2100) in 1998, I
think. I used it avidly until Apple killed it off then, after a while
jumped into the Palm camp. I couldn't bear to part with my Newt so I
packed it back into it's original box and put it in the loft. That must
have been late 1999. Last year, I was having some building work done so
I cleared out the loft and re-discovered the Newton. I thought it must
be long dead - at least the battery anyway but I thought "what the
hell" and plugged it in for a weekend. To my amazement, not only did it
work - the battery charged up and all my data was still there! I even
found a few addresses I thought I'd lost. I'm still waiting for some
decent MacOS X iCal and Address Book integration (hooray! to NewtTen
and NewtSync) but, with PowerTrans, I've now got a serious use for the
Newt again and I'm bracing myself for a lot of "what's that?" or rather
"Qué es eso?" around the office.
