exactly, which is why i said "funny"! shoulda used the more descriptive abbreviation of "M$"

camino and mozilla and safari, to name the three most popular Mac OS browsers, all offer popup blocking - dunno about opera and icab or any others - as well as tabbed browsing. M$ doesn't because they don't have to. ah, sweeet, soft, unchallenging, deadening...homogenuity!
