Some time ago, when I first found this group, I had mentioned that we were
using approximately 1,800 (approx. 1,400 usable) Newtons to collect research
data across the US. Well, with our new contract we have purchased new hand
held computers and therefore it is time to figure out what to do with out
stock of Newtons (and peripherals). Currently, we are looking to either
find those who are interested in a bulk purchase (not of all 1,400) or to
auction them off on e-bay. I would be curious of anyone on this list, or
anyone all of you might know, that would be interested in a bulk purchase.
If so, let me know what you think you would like quantity wise. Most of
these Newtons have rechargable batteries (although well used), 4mb flash
cards, modems, AA battery trays, and AC adapters. I am not sure of the
price they will be selling them for, but they might only be around $50 a
piece (just not sure if that includes peripherals or what so don't quote me
on it). As I know more I will post it here, but in the meantime let me know
what you all think.
