Buried somewhere in the list archives are specific instructions on how to set your serial port params in Windows, so that you don't need all these slowdown.exe's running.
I've not tested the instructions yet but I will shortly, I'm going to help a grad student set up their 1Ghz WinXP laptop for use with a MP.
It should work, and wouldbe alot more elegant (and what the heck else is a serial port for, these days, besides for a Newton?)
