I put a thin rubber section over mine, between the hinge and cable.
However, I'm going to get a spare cable anyway, since discovering that
the eMate with PT100 is the most portable and user friendly VT100
terminal I've ever used - for the first time I've been able to set up a
3Com 511S ISDN router (which needs to be setup initially via a serial
connection) and make it work.
