With the release this week of PBBookMaker with the DCL, I was thinking
that maybe desktop connectivity for the Newton ought to take a
different approach. Would it be possible to work towards a system
where the user could drag and drop any given file on the desktop
connectivity app, which would then dynamically generate a package to
send to the Newton (complete with viewer if necessary) depending on the
content type? Getting rid of the whole package metaphor (which is
really only practical for program files) would make things much easier
for Newton users, and ease the learning curve for new users.
