To the best of my knowledge this is not true. A transfer
within Europe may not cost more than a transfer within the
country the money was sent from. This often means that the
transfer is free if your bank doesn't charge for transfers
inside your country, but if it does, it might not be free.
Apart from that, many banks pretend not to know about this
and try to charge you amazing fees for transfers inside
Europe.
