Re: [NTLK] Emate and sound recording

Well, while I wait on where to find the hinge repair
information, how about one other question. You can get a upgrade to
increase the internal memory to 4 mb, how about a processor upgrade?

And now, sound recording. I went home and hooked up my
microphone to special Newton serial cable that I had fashioned for my
Newton 2000.

Selected to have the Newton record through line-in. It didn't
see the microphone, I proceeded onwards.

The Emate did not have the means to select a recording when
making a new note, so I beamed a blank recording to the Emate from a
2000. After that, I recorded a nice sound byte from the radio.
Actually did the recoding quite nicely.

I'm getting to the point I am impressed at apparently what the
Newtons 130 could have done if only it was given the 2.1 operating
system. Seems where I thought it was a limitation of the processor was
actually a limitation of the operating system.

Yeh, how do you do that?

True the eMate does not have a microphone. Some time ago there was
discussion of using the NIC port for mic input, but I don't know if
anyone did it.
Don't forget to check and repair the lid spring.
