This may not be exactly your question, but yes, you can set a card prefs
to "Store new info and packages on this card", and also set the I/O box
prefs to "Always store new items internally". What seems to happen in
this circumstance is that stuff that's IN the I/O box is in internal
store, but as soon as you "put away" the item, they get moved to the
card.
