Yes... I got my first OMP at a second hand store for the princely sum of
fifty cents. They didn't have the password that the original owner had set
up, so they put it out for a parts machine. I looked it over and
thought.... "hmmmm... I never heard of an Apple Newton, but I bet it has
magnetic bubble memory. Kill the power and the password is gone... nothing
left but whatever is on the ROM chip". With a little persuasion, I was
able to kill the old data and make it my own.
Since then I have acquired a couple of Flash storage cards, two Apple
Newton modems and an MP110. I had hoped to use the email function
remotely. I gather that this is an impossibility... so as soon as cashflow
will allow, I intend to get a 2x00.
Jobs was an idiot to cancel this thing... even the OMP beats the best Palm
has to offer!
