It's the dreaded 'Unexpected Newton error'. Almost impossible to
diagnose without a debug log, I'm afraid. To create a debug log:
o Install the debug version of Mail V.
o Open its preferences: in the In Box tap the information button and
then tap Mail V Prefs.
o Open the debug page: tap the More button then tap Debug.
o Check The usual suspects and All I/O.
o If you use the Newton Toolkit direct the log there, otherwise check
Notes.
o Close Mail V Prefs.
If you directed output to Notes, when the error occurs an unfiled Note
should be created. Since you say sending works, please email me that
note for analysis.
Alternatively...
Perhaps there's something awry with your setups that doesn't show up in
setup. You could try using Mail Assistant to delete your existing setup
and reenter it afresh.
Or...
Revert to SimpleMail 4.3. It's setup format is not compatible with
Mail V so you'll have to use Mail Assistant to delete your existing
setup, then reenter it with SimpleMail 4.3 installed.
And...
When in doubt, do a soft reset :)
