It is possible. You can desolder the original driver-circuit and
replace it with a modern power-saving one.
The problem is: Doing this as a service would be really expensive and
_nobody_ will pay that price.
We asked backlight4you you for a driver replacement, but we dropped
that project because of the expensive service-fees.
