Well, I wasn't the man who said it, nor do I agree, but he has a point
and I will try to explain it:
The TAM was a very ambitious project, tons of demos were created,
however, the specs of the system kept dropping over time.
By the time of its release the TAM had the specs of a midrange Performa
but it cost close to 4 times as much. Most of the performance cuts were
due to its form factor, the CD-ROM could only run at half speed because
it was turned on its side, a PowerPC 603 was used because they could
not dissipate the heat of a 604 processor.
Basically the TAM's finish was no where near as awesome as its
inception. I don't know if that is what Martin was getting at or not,
but its my take on it. I really like the TAM but I also am very aware
of its faults.
