In a previous message, Michael J. Hußmann typed vigorously:

>Who was responsible for the MessagePads' design, by the way?

According to "Apple Design" book:

The initial concept for the Original MessagePad (Codename: 'Batman') was
designed by Gavin Ivester, Tim Parsey, Daniele De Iuliis, Susanne Pierce,
and Robert Brunner.

A prerelease version of the OMP/MP100 included a removable 'Batmobile'
screen cover/lid. The cover was designed by Tim Parsey. You can see a
picture of my Batmobile prototype here:

The final design for the OMP/MP100 (Codename: 'Junior') was again the
team of Gavin Ivester, Tim Parsey, Daniele De Iuliis, Susanne Pierce, and
Robert Brunner.

The MessagePad 110/120/130 (Codename: 'Lindy') was designed by Jonathan
Ive.

The MessagePad 2000/2100 (Codename: 'Q') was designed by Daniele De
Iuliis and Don Porter of Apple, and Kusuki Mori of Sharp Electronics
Japan.

There you go.
