More likely a convenient confluence of 'opportunities'. I believe that
various factors outside the performance of the Newton unit itself had an
influence on the decision to can it - this may have been one of them.

To prevent such things in the future, I see that Apple are beginning the
process of extricating themselves from Microsoft dependency, starting with
browsers and presentations.

Steve was/is wrong about tablets/PDAs and he is wrong on the value of good
usability engineering and Apple are being needlessly impeded as a
consequence.
