Check settings in InBox -> i -> Beam Prefs.

Make sure 'Recieve Beams Automatically' is UNCHECKED, otherwise the IR port
will be on continuously and will drain the batteries quickly.

Also check settings in Extras -> Preferences -> Sleep. Make sure a sleep
timeout is specified...
