A FEW of us use the ripoff pOuch which i do love. it clips to your belt and away you go. great in any weather and built to last. the only problem i have is that it has worn holes in my pants where the clip edge rubs against my pants. but i do wear my newton on my hip everywhere so ymmv. http://www.ripoffs.com/datasheets/co58/co58.html

I'm about to go to bed, so I pull my newton mp2100 out of my backpack,
put my wireless card in it, and climb into bed. I open the screen cover
to see a lovely spiderweb of cracked lcd screen in front of me.

shock

abject terror

I close the lid slowly, take a deep breath, and when I look again... -
still there, still broken, still killed by a textbook in the same bag
and likely some rough handling of said bookbag after returning form a
10-12 midnight shift in the computer labs.

I power her up - and luckily (?) the lcd and backlight are fine - my
Pirate flag still flies in Avi's backdrop, and the dialog confirming
the wireless card's insertion pops up.

But the touch sensor and glass are completely dead. Luckily my nuShield
kept any glass bits from spilling into my bed or my backpack.

So what are my options? Just how modular is the display assembly - I'm
not afraid to take the whole thing apart if need be. Can the glass and
touchsensor be replaced inependently of the actual lcd and/or the
backlight? What would a good source be for replacement parts? Assuming
I do actually manage to fix it (poor thing, had it barely a month and
really liked it, which reminds me - I should remove the pics of my gf
who dumped me tonight from my avi's backdrops), what sort of cases
would persons recomend? I'm considering some sort of belt or shoulder
holster - so I don't EVER put it in my backpack again.
