The Newton ID is pulled from a chip on the MLB. It has a unique 64 bit number permanently fixed within. In fact, it's
called a silicon ID. Having this number of bits ensures that no two are the same.
If you are getting a different number than the one you registered, either the chip is a different one than the one you
originally used to register (i.e. you have more than one machine)or the MLB has been changed at some point.
