I installed the following packages for ethernet support (in order):

inetenbl.pkg
newtdev.pkg
enetsup.pkg
inetstup.pkg
FarllonEthernet.pkg
3c589.pkg

Am I missing somthing?

You are missing an extension called "z3ComDrv:clli". I use a the D version
of this card in the upper slot. It draws no power unless active.
