Thanks Matt & Peter:

I would like to have this for when I am using a wireless network for
which I do not know the server information. For example, when using a
discovered hotspot in my neighborhood, at a friend's house, on a park
bench, or when I am down at the coffeeshop. I can check my mail with
Mail V, but sending fails because my mail servers don't accept mail
sent from these internet connections. To send mail in these
situations, I usually use my web-based .mac account, but those pages
load slowly on my computer and so I don't want to punish myself by
loading them on the Newton.

By Newton-friendly, I mean a web page that is scaled for the Newton
screen size and relatively simple, devoid of most graphics, so that I
can do a simple sending of messages. I use and like Mail V for reading
mail, and I like it (except for the lack of a "new mail" sound, about
which nobody has commented yet), although I might try some of the other
free ones to see if I like them better. Drawbacks so far are that I
cannot access my .mac mail with Mail V, and I have another account that
doesn't work correctly with Mail V yet (it might need some further
config).

Isn't Mail V the replacement (evolution) of SimpleMail? Why would it
drop POP access when SimpleMail had it?

Is there another solution? Can I easily determine what settings to use
for unfamilar wireless networks?

Thanks,
Tom I.
