lots of reasons. here are some:

- it's compelling, to see how this ragtag band keeps it all going after
so many years
- the people are cool and their stories are interesting (there are
exceptions)
- i feel like i may go back to it and don't want to have to ramp up
again
- the OT stuff is often quite entertaining
- there are a few things i want to try (wireless, pulling some of the
captured audio off and converting it to some more standard format)
- how else would i have found out about poutine?

the end for me was when iPod gained address book capability - and then
when my work required less notetaking. so i gave up hauling it around.

i still have my collection: omp, clear-case 110, 2 120s, 130, 2
emates, nos 2100, and my 2100 workhorse, plus all sorts of geegaws and
doodads.

so while we're at it - what is the easiest way to pull audio notes out
of my newt and get them into my mac as wav or mp3 files? i recorded my
younger kid's very first cry in the delivery room, plus several other
priceless moments, and it would sure be fun to have them in a more
universal format.
