Ok...

All these eMate display problem issues have convinced
me to do the eMate display prevention, if not fix - as
the eMate on the way to me has never been used - maybe
never opened (still in bag). What should be my drill
here? Open once, then disassemble immediately and do
the washer fix even if no problem exists?

What if I open the unit and find that the two arms of
the spring on each hinge are full length? Do I just
oil it and close or do the washer placement no matter
what?
