Well, um, my turn of phrase was misleading. I was actually referring
to the 1982 World Series, and the "Cardinals of my youth" included
people like Ozzy Smith. (Yeah, yeah, I know I'm half all y'all's age.
I'm used to it! LOL!)
I'm not old enough to remember Bob Gibson as a player, but I've always
rooted for my home team, and it seems fitting that the Red Sox will
play off against a very worth opponent like the Cards. At least, to
me. :)
