Right, i dont even care what number is dialed, mine dialed 000 000 0000 and
still gets through all i am doing is sending a signal from the newton, waiting
untill it has sent (newts modem will go quiet) then the comps modem picks up
its end it doesnt even need to know why. then the two will bounce signals back
and forth, this is heard over the speakers, then once the two modems agree on
a speed. connection, cant use a terminal program because NCU wont run thruogh
it. You have to make sure both modems have listen for dial tone disabled, also
data correction has to be off, very important. have made connection with it on
but at only 300 baud its a connection only un usable. I know phones have a
line voltage but modems are built to handle that at least good ones are, i
mean they have to. I guess you could always set up your comp to answer
incoming calls turn on Ncu and go call from another number. I could even set
up my old 540 powerbook to do this at certain times if anyone wants, leave ncu
on packages needed in the file. Call an load packages. Hmm an idea for a 1900
number.
