In my not-so-enlightened-opinion, I think it would be wise to limit the
port to one or two hardware bases... Basically, pick a platform, and
stick with it. It might be necessary to consider and port to more than
one for the sake of future thinking, and it may become necessary to
port multiple times, so I can understand making it fairly portable, but
I think it would simplify (read _speed up_) development enough to
actually see a "product" sooner, than if they tried to support as many
platforms as possible....
With that in mind, what are the best candidates? I don't follow other
platforms, so cannot say, but what PDA platforms seem to be likely
candidates--solid hardware, buttons, other features??? I can think of
the Yopi, but there are other open source, or *nix-based PDAs aren't
there? How about Pocket PCs??? Wouldn't _that_ be a coup to put an
Apple-based OS on a Microsoft-based hardware? ;-)
