Is this the archive you spoke of ?
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,4314,00.html
"…the world's first, commercial, natural language speech-recognition
software product is being introduced. Dragon Systems Inc., a Newton,
Massachusetts-based company, is set to ship, in the next week, the
first commercial versions of the software, called NaturallySpeaking.
The software enables users to speak naturally when dictating memos or
letters to their PC."

I couldn't find any mention of the Apple Newton MessagePad, so I
E-mailed scansoft for clarification. Hopefully there will be a
response.
