Hi Clare,
Why don't you ask your guest who's visiting to help you get a 220 to
110 converter.
I don't recall it being 240, but of course I'm not from that side of
the pond and could very well be wrong... though I hope not! :)
electricity here in the states is 110/220.
This way you can use any 110 adapter device with it.
On this side of the pond they do sell 110 to 220 to Euro spec devices.
