Another test:

1. Started GPS Monitor 2.0b9 (the GPS receiver compatibility tool by
Gerd Staudenmaier) with settings like GPS Map.
2. Monitor doesn't move a step beyond "Waiting for GPS Data".
3. Then bloing, up pops a popup:

        "(i) Monitor
        An unexpected error has occurred.
        Error code = -36003
                                                        [X]"

Not sure if that helps any...
