Which is as fast as the slowest transceiver, which is the Newton. You
don't need to tell the PowerBook to throttle the Ethernet speed; in
fact, you can't.
Ethernet automatically throttles to whatever speed at which the other
nodes are trying to link. If it didn't, you'd probably never be able
to connect your PBook to anything, cos Gbe equipment hasn't gotten
cheap enough for the common man yet.
