When I go to Dates, in either the card or 'show all' view of a person,
and click on the 'Add' button, there is a list entry for 'Dates'. In
the resulting data entry panel, there is a space for 'Birthday' and a
space for 'Anniversary'. Each will open a date picker, or I can enter
the date directly from the numeric keypad on the panel.
