If it makes you feel better, Victor, I run a legit list server for
another volunteer group, and I've been getting weird, transient,
bounce messages for the latter half of this week. The listserver got
on spamcop's rbl. I wrote to explain we're legit. Ten minutes later
(before they could have reviewed and corrected, even automatically),
the same recipient gets the next list message. Then, I get a regular
email bounce because my relay mail server is on spamhaus. Before I
can check into it, another message goes through perfectly well to the
same recipient. For several weeks before that, I've also had lost
message which neither bounce nor arrive. At first, I thought the
clients who reported the problem were mistaken or inattentive. But,
I've gotten fairly similar reports now from two clients weeks apart.
Half the mail goes through, and the other half -- addressed exactly
the same way -- neither arrives nor returns. My more current theory
is that something upstream is wrongly nailing it as spam and not
reporting the rejection. I previously thought that was impossible
under the SMTP protocol.

Anyway, I write this in the hope it actually gets to you to report
that the problem may be bigger than NewtonTalk of your local ISP. Not
sure, myself.
