Dear Joe,
i am really sorry for such delay on responding, i really can't
imagine why your message remained parked in the online archive folder
and had not been downloaded on my desktop computer by the email
client. So please read below:

NewtUSB drivers are very well made i think, cause they really can't
be cause of conflict with existing serial drivers both on OS9 and OSX.
Infact having a Keyspan adapter already installed is really not a
problem and one could use NewtUSB as a third serial port.
Then i preferred to make NewtUSB as a standalone device to let it be
used with existing accessories other than to let it be compatible
with any messagePad.

Before producing the Clear Dock, i plan to complete development on a
couple of special accessories.
First of them will be previewed during first days of 2006.
Then when i will be able to produce the Clear Dock i think i will
make it available without integrated keyboard,
but consider that my best wishes point to use of a bluetooth keyboard...

Your idea of a single connection from Newton to stand-hub is the best
possible and also is the easiest to be realized pratically i think.

Time ago i have built an audio adapter which has a line-in which is
compatible with Plaintalk active microphone,
and a lineout which includes a 3W amplifier (powered by the
MessagePad itself) and a secondary audio jack
compatible with Apple Pro Speakers mini-jack. I have never had the
time to complete the case for such accessory.

I have the parts to build a Newton keyboard dedicated illumination.
I would be happy to build a kit for the eMate too, just hope to find
the time to work on it during next months.
> 7) Newton power adapter connection - so I can power and charge
The interconnect power adapter shows versatility of the interconnect
port.
