Hi Brad,

first thing to do actually is to load the last version (1.0.8) of the
prolific driver, cause i noticed it's more stable than the previous
(1.0.6)

The best page for software D/L is here (as on the wiki page, from the
"SerialIO" page link):
http://www.serialio.com/download/Drivers/pl2303_10.3X_v108.zip

Here's another link to a Mac D/L which offers a complete set of drivers
for Prolific hardware starting from OS8.6 to OSX (OS9 drivers include a
guide too)
http://www.manhattan-support.com/drivers/205146.sit

After installing the OS X package, go in the OSX network preference
panel. There will be a new port recognized by the OS, it should be
"ser0".
Just activate it as any other network port.
A quick note: It will be recognized as a "USB modem" port in NCU/OS9

Hope this could be of better help,
Adriano

Adriano,

I actualy used that as I guide - as I said the problem appears to be OS
X related and not anything else. It simply will not load the driver
into the kernel, and if I use kextload to load it no serial port is
opened....
