This is starting to get off-topic, but anyway (and to keep it short):
Unix started its life in a world when computers used to be huge time-
sharing mainframes, and that's where it is really at home. It is the kind
of OS you need when hundreds of users are sharing the same CPU and memory
resources, and when there's an admin to keep everything running smoothly.
On the other hand, it is grossly inadequate on a personal computer with
typically just one user who is also doing admin duty (because there's no-
one else to do this job).
