First off, in order to be potted the transformer needs to be taken off the
PCB.
The BL circuit is designed for minimum power consumption at optimum BL
intensity.
In other words: the transformer and all the BL circuitry is not supposed to
warm up.
Heat means losses, waste of power, shorter battery life time.
