[NTLK] Ethernet on 2100 error code ?

I have a MP2k upgraded to 2100 and have decided to try to connect it to
my Ethernet at home.

I have a 3 Com Etherlink III card (3C589D-TP) but when i insert it i
get a -61001 error. Any ideas ?

running ROM V2.1 (717260)

I believe i added the 3C589.pkg and the 3comaddon.pkg as well as the
enetsup and newtdev

can anyone suggest something that will move this along ?
