Hiya.
I'm looking into getting a replacement battery for my 2000u. I've seen
the re-celled ones on eBay, promising 36 to 48 hrs of charge. It sounds
like a good deal, but I want to know what sort of potential problems
there might be, if any, and what I should look for to avoid them.

Anyone know that sort of stuff?

Oh, BTW, I'm also wondering about solar power. Any solar stuff out
there for the Newt?
